Vinyl Siding in Florissant for Ranch Homes

Most Florissant homes are 60 to 80 years old, and the original aluminum, chalky wood, and brittle first-generation vinyl on these post-WWII ranches is long past its service life. Dented panels from the May 19, 2025 hail, split seams at the gables, and badly faded south-elevation walls are the honest story we hear on nearly every quote off New Halls Ferry or Charbonier Rd. Top Quality Exteriors re-sides cost-sensitive north-county homes with modern vinyl that lays flat, locks together tight, and shrugs off the hail corridor our neighborhoods sit inside.

Vinyl siding is the workhorse material for Florissant for a reason — it lands at the lower end of the exterior budget, it carries a long factory color warranty, and it holds up to the hail, humid summers, and freeze-thaw winters that batter aging north-county ranches here. Our crews pair every re-side with proper housewrap, J-channel, step flashing, and a tight corner-post plan, and we can bundle the work with siding installation in Florissant on larger wrap jobs. Financing is available for qualified owners.

Why Florissant Owners Choose Vinyl

  • Lowest total cost on modest ranch footprints across north county
  • Won’t rot, warp, or need painting through our freeze-thaw winters
  • Color options that mask sun-faded south and west elevations

Built for North County Weather

Our vinyl re-sides are built around the real exposure Florissant walls get: 25-plus hail reports within 10 miles of the city center in 2025 alone, 90-degree humid summers that drive moisture into un-insulated post-war framing, and single-digit cold snaps that make brittle old panels pop at the fasteners. We tear off the old lap, inspect sheathing and the weather-resistive barrier, cut out any soft or rotted spots, and install new housewrap, step and kickout flashings, J-channel, and starter strip before a single panel goes on. Mid-grade and premium vinyl profiles today carry impact ratings that stand up to the pea-to-quarter-sized hail that keeps hitting west and southwest-facing elevations off Patterson and Parker Rd, and insulated-backed profiles can add real R-value to 1950s stud walls that were framed without any insulation at all — a point worth weighing against fiber cement siding in Florissant when the budget allows for a longer-life upgrade.

Our 5-Step Siding Process

Every Florissant re-side runs the same five steps, start to finish, so you always know what’s happening on your home each day. We built this flow around the older ranch stock here, where surprises hide behind old panels. Here is exactly how we work.

Free Inspection

We walk every wall and check panels, seams, flashing, and sheathing. Hail dents, chalky color, split corners, and loose J-channel get noted. You get a plain, written assessment.

Honest Estimate

You get a line-item quote covering tear-off, housewrap, trim, and vinyl. We walk you through color options and insulated-backed upgrades together. No surprise add-ons later on.

Material Choice

We pick a vinyl line that suits your ranch’s elevation and north-county exposure. Color, panel profile, and texture samples get held to your home. You approve the final look here.

Pro Installation

Our crew tears off old lap, installs fresh housewrap and flashings. Vinyl goes up with proper nailing, corner posts, and starter strip, square and tight. We clean up each evening.

Final Walkthrough

We walk the home with you and check every elevation, corner, and penetration. You sign off only when the install meets our standard and yours. Workmanship paperwork follows next.

Why Trust Our Florissant Crews

Top Quality Exteriors was founded in 2022, and our owner and lead installers carry over 7 years of industry experience on exteriors across north St. Louis County. We are a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, licensed in Missouri and Illinois, and backed by general liability and workers’ comp insurance on every job on the schedule. That matters when the crew tears off 1950s panels off a ranch and finds the surprises older homes hide behind the siding.

Our 52-plus-person team covers Florissant along with Hazelwood, Ferguson, and Bridgeton, so we are rarely a long drive from your door for a punch-list touch-up or a quick storm call. Every re-side carries our firm 36-month workmanship warranty, with extended coverage available on selected products, plus the full factory warranty on the vinyl itself. For a true premium upgrade down the road, our James Hardie siding in Florissant fits the very same crew.

Vinyl Siding Costs in Florissant

Vinyl is the lowest-cost exterior cladding on the market in St. Louis, which is exactly why it is the right starting point for the modest ranch footprints that make up roughly 75% of Florissant’s housing stock. Pricing on a typical 1,100-to-1,500-square-foot ranch is driven by three things: the wall square footage, the vinyl line and profile you choose, and whether the sheathing beneath needs any repair. Insulated-backed vinyl adds some cost up front.

That upfront cost is often paid back through lower utility bills on 1950s stud walls that were framed without any insulation at all. If your old siding was damaged in the May 19, 2025 hail or the March 2025 EF2 tornado track through north county, a storm claim may fund the entire re-side; Missouri allows a 12-month window to file. We offer Hearth and GreenSky financing for qualified owners, and we are happy to coordinate with your adjuster on the final scope of work.

Frequently Asked Questions

For a typical 1,100-to-1,500-square-foot Florissant ranch, vinyl siding lands at the lower end of the metro range, with the final number driven by wall square footage, the vinyl line you pick, and any sheathing or trim repair we find during tear-off. Insulated-backed profiles cost more up front but can lower utility bills on 1950s uninsulated walls.
Yes — the 1940s-to-1960s ranches that make up roughly 75% of Florissant’s housing stock are among the ideal candidates for a vinyl re-side on north county. We tear off the old aluminum or brittle vinyl, inspect the sheathing and weather barrier, replace any soft spots, and install new housewrap and flashings before a single new panel goes on the wall.
Mid-grade and premium vinyl profiles today carry impact ratings designed for the pea-to-quarter-sized hail that keeps hitting west and southwest-facing elevations in Florissant. We saw 2-inch hail here on May 19, 2025, so profile choice matters a great deal on this corridor. Insulated-backed vinyl is tougher at the fasteners than old brittle 1960s panels.
Most Florissant ranches finish in two to five working days, depending on wall square footage, how much sheathing needs repair underneath, and the weather window we are working inside. We tear off the old lap, install housewrap and flashings on day one, hang vinyl on days two and three, and finish trim, corner posts, and cleanup before the final walkthrough with you.
Yes, absolutely. If your old siding was dented in the May 19, 2025 hail or torn in the March 2025 EF2 tornado path through north Florissant, we document the damage with photos and a written scope and work directly with your adjuster. Missouri allows a 12-month window to file a storm claim, so do not wait on an aging panel that is already visibly compromised.
Honestly, no — vinyl panels manufactured 20 or 30 years ago cannot be color-matched to any current factory color today, which is why a single damaged elevation often ends up as a full re-side on an older Florissant ranch. We will tell you up front whether a spot repair is realistic or whether the whole wall should just be replaced for a clean look.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
