Fiber Cement Siding in Florissant, MO

Replacing tired vinyl or chalky aluminum on a post-war ranch in Florissant means picking a product that can finally outlast another decade of hail, humidity swings, and freeze-thaw punishment year after year. Top Quality Exteriors installs fiber cement siding across north St. Louis County because the material science holds up where lesser cladding fails. Cement, sand, and cellulose fibers press into dense boards that will not rot, warp, melt, or feed termites on the 1950s framing you find off New Halls Ferry Rd or Charbonier Rd.

From Old Jamestown to the Villages at Barrington Downs, Florissant owners choose fiber cement when they are ready to leave vinyl behind for good. Pre-primed planks take paint beautifully, mimic cedar lap, shake, or smooth modern panels, and carry manufacturer warranties measured in decades. Pair it with proper flashing, a rain screen gap, and ColorPlus finishes, and you have an exterior that laughs off the 2.5-inch hail Florissant logged in 2025. Many homeowners also pair this upgrade with new James Hardie siding trim details.

Why Fiber Cement Fits North County

  • Non-combustible boards resist embers, grease fires, and heat.
  • Pest-proof cement blocks termites, ants, and woodpeckers.
  • Dimensional stability through Missouri freeze-thaw swings yearly.

Built for Florissant Weather

Florissant sits in the metro hail corridor, and 2025 proved it — roughly 25 hail reports landed within ten miles of the city center, including two-inch stones with 40 mph gusts on May 19 and a 2.5-inch max for the year. On top of that, the March 13 to 16 outbreak pushed an EF2 tornado through Chesterfield into Bridgeton and on through Florissant. Fiber cement planks absorb that abuse far better than aging vinyl, which cracks when temperatures dip, or aluminum, which dents on contact. Install the right fastening pattern, blind-nailed into studs with proper engagement, and the wall shrugs off the kind of west and southwest wind-driven impact we see across Hazelwood, Ferguson, and Bridgeton. Humid July afternoons that bake vinyl into warped waves do nothing to a dense cement board. Winter sheet-ice sliding off a ranch gable will not punch through it. Combine the material with a factory ColorPlus finish or a quality field coating, and your siding repair calls drop to nearly zero.

Our 5-Step Siding Process

Here is how we move a Florissant fiber cement project from a first phone call to a finished, warranty-backed exterior. Every step is on paper, every price is itemized, and every crew lead has done this on north county ranches many times.

Free Site Visit

We walk every elevation of your Florissant home with you. We measure, note existing siding type, and flag rotted sheathing. You get a clear, no-pressure estimate the same week.

Material & Color

We bring Hardie and James Hardie-partner samples to your driveway. Pick lap, shake, or panel plus ColorPlus or paint-grade. We confirm the look against your trim and roof shingles.

Permit & Prep

We pull the City of Florissant building permit and schedule tear-off. Crews protect landscaping, set dumpsters, and tarp walkways. Sheathing surprises are documented before cover.

Install Siding

Crews install weather-resistive barrier, flashing, and fiber cement to Hardie specs. We leave gaps, caulk joints, and seal penetrations. Nail depth is double-checked wall by wall.

Walk & Warranty

We clean the yard with magnets, review the finished exterior with you, and hand over all paperwork. You get our 36-month workmanship warranty plus the product warranty in writing.

Trusted on North County Homes

Top Quality Exteriors has worked on Florissant homes since the company was founded in 2022, and the owner-led team carries 7+ years of exterior industry experience into every job. We are a James Hardie Alliance Program Member and an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, which means our installers have manufacturer training on the exact fiber cement products we sell. We are BBB A+ accredited, licensed in Missouri and Illinois, and carry full liability coverage.

North county owners along Lindbergh Blvd and the Coldwater Creek corridor hire us because we treat an older ranch like a custom home. We open walls carefully, document rotted sheathing in writing, and never surprise you with a change order after the fact. Our crews leave Hazelwood, Ferguson, and Bridgeton driveways cleaner than we found them. If a Florissant inspector flags a detail, we fix it that day and keep moving. Honest work, done once.

What Fiber Cement Siding Costs

Fiber cement siding in Florissant typically runs higher per square foot than vinyl and lower than full brick or stone, which puts it squarely in the sweet spot for a volume town where owners want a true upgrade without luxury pricing. Your final number depends on home size, number of elevations, trim detail, soffit and fascia replacement, window wrap work, and whether we are stripping existing vinyl or going over wood lap. We quote everything itemized in plain English.

Flexible financing through Hearth and GreenSky helps qualified Florissant owners spread the investment over manageable monthly payments. Insurance claims after the May 2025 hail storms frequently cover a meaningful share of a siding upgrade, especially where aluminum or aged vinyl was already denting and cracking. We help you document damage, meet the adjuster on site, and submit LP SmartSide siding or vinyl siding comparisons when requested.

Frequently Asked Questions

Properly installed fiber cement siding in Florissant commonly lasts 30 to 50 years, and ColorPlus factory finishes hold their look for 15 years or longer before any touch-up is needed. The cement core will not rot, warp, or feed insects, which is why warranties often reach 30 years on the substrate. On a well-flashed 1950s ranch, you should expect decades of easy ownership.
For most Florissant owners replacing original aluminum or aged, brittle vinyl, fiber cement is a clear step up. It will not crack from a hard freeze, dent from hail, or warp against a hot grill. It is thicker, non-combustible, and takes paint instead of fading into chalky pastels. Vinyl is cheaper upfront, but fiber cement typically out-lives it twice over on north county homes.
Yes. The City of Florissant requires a building permit for siding replacement, and your contractor should pull it, not you. We handle the paperwork, submit it to the Florissant Building Department, and post it on site before tear-off begins. Permits are valid for 180 days, and if we need extra time we file the written request and the $40 extension fee on your behalf.
We do not recommend it, and neither does the manufacturer. The right approach is a full tear-off down to the sheathing, replacement of any rotted boards or non-nailable wood, a new weather-resistive barrier, and then fiber cement over a clean, flat surface. Going over old vinyl traps moisture, hides problems, and voids the Hardie warranty. Do it right once.
James Hardie ColorPlus technology offers more than 20 baked-on factory colors covering warm neutrals, deep blues, forest greens, classic whites, and modern grays that match most Florissant streetscapes. Prefer custom? We install primed boards and paint on site using 100-percent acrylic exterior paint in any Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore color, with topcoats rated for 15-year adhesion.
A typical Florissant ranch of 1,500 to 2,000 square feet runs seven to twelve working days from tear-off to final walk-through, weather depending. Larger two-story homes in Old Jamestown may need two to three weeks. We schedule crews so your home is never left open overnight. Rain delays happen, but we tarp every elevation at the end of each workday without exception.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
