LP SmartSide Siding in Florissant, MO

If you own one of Florissant’s post-war ranch homes along New Halls Ferry Rd or near Old Jamestown, you’ve probably watched the original aluminum dent in hail or seen aging vinyl crack along the south elevation. LP SmartSide siding in Florissant, MO gives those 1950s walls a tougher, more authentic wood look without the price tag of fiber cement. Top Quality Exteriors installs engineered wood siding sized to modest ranch footprints, matched to the Florissant permit process, and backed by financing that works for cost-sensitive north-county owners.

Engineered wood resists the hail that bruises aluminum, holds paint longer than aging vinyl, and carries a deep cedar grain that reads real from the curb. Our Florissant crews pre-prime cut ends, install over a proper weather barrier, and flash every opening so your 1950s ranch wall gets a true moisture-managed system, not just a cosmetic overlay. If budget is the deciding factor between this and fiber cement siding in Florissant, we’ll price both options honestly and let the exterior drive the final choice.

Why LP SmartSide Fits Florissant

  • Dent-and-crack resistance that outperforms aluminum and old vinyl
  • Authentic cedar-grain look at a price below fiber cement siding
  • Prefinished and prepainted options matched to Florissant codes

Engineered Wood for North County

LP SmartSide is engineered strand substrate treated with zinc borate and sealed under a factory-primed overlay, which is why it holds up on the sun-exposed southwest elevations that take the brunt of Florissant hail during storm season. We fasten per the manufacturer’s nailing pattern, maintain the required gap at butt joints, and seal cut ends in the field so moisture never finds the core. On the mid-century ranches off Lindbergh Blvd and the newer builds near Villages at Barrington Downs, we match trim profiles so the install looks native rather than retrofitted, with corner boards and window surrounds sized to the original architecture. The planks come in 16-foot lengths, which cuts seams on long north-county elevations and speeds installation on tight schedules. If you want to pair the exterior with wall insulation, our insulated siding in Florissant page covers the R-value math on un-insulated 1950s framing that is standard here through Hazelwood, Ferguson, and Bridgeton.

Our 5-Step Siding Process

Replacing siding on a Florissant ranch is predictable work when the sequence is right. Here is exactly how we move from first phone call to a finished wall, with the permit, the weather barrier, and the final walkthrough spelled out in plain terms.

Free Walkaround

We meet you at the house, measure every elevation, and photograph the aluminum, vinyl, or wood that is on the wall today. You get a clean line-item quote within one business day.

Material Picks

We bring LP SmartSide prefinished panels and primed-for-paint samples so you can match a Florissant ranch palette. Trim, corner boards, and soffit choices are confirmed here now.

Permit & Prep

We pull the Florissant building permit, schedule disposal, and tarp landscaping before tear-off. The old aluminum or vinyl comes down one elevation at a time, never a whole house.

Install & Flash

Crews install a house wrap, flash every window, and nail planks on the manufacturer pattern. Butt joints get the required gap and cut ends are sealed before the next course lands.

Final Walkthrough

We power-wash the yard clean, pull every nail from the lawn, and walk the finished exterior with you. Final payment follows your sign-off and the workmanship warranty is on paper.

Local Experience You Can Verify

Top Quality Exteriors was founded in 2022 and brings over 7 years of industry experience to every Florissant job. We are a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, licensed in Missouri and Illinois, and carry both general liability and workers’ compensation coverage so your home and our crew are protected during the install. Owner Mario A. Granados runs crews personally, keeping quality consistent on the small ranch footprints that fill north county.

Our team of 52-plus runs multiple siding crews across north St. Louis County, which means a Florissant tear-off can be scheduled inside a reasonable window even during a busy storm season. Every job is backed by our 36-month workmanship warranty, with extended options up to lifetime available on selected product lines so the exterior stays covered long after the final walkthrough. We also offer Hearth and GreenSky financing for qualified homeowners.

LP SmartSide Cost in Florissant

LP SmartSide typically lands between vinyl and fiber cement on the quote line. On a typical 1950s Florissant ranch of 1,000 to 1,400 square feet of wall area, that often works out below the James Hardie equivalent while delivering a thicker plank, longer prefinished warranty, and real wood grain depth. The variable that moves the number most on an older north-county home is substrate: rotted wood lap, un-insulated cavities, or soft sheathing adds material and labor.

We quote everything in writing with no surprise change orders, pulling the Florissant permit under our name and handling disposal of the old aluminum, vinyl, or wood. Hail or wind damage from the May 19, 2025 storm or the March 2025 EF2 tornado track through Florissant may be covered by your homeowners policy, and we work directly with adjusters when the claim is legitimate. If you want a premium-tier comparison, our James Hardie siding in Florissant page lays it out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The post-war ranches that dominate Florissant have simple elevations and un-insulated 1950s walls, which is exactly the install LP SmartSide was built for. The 16-foot planks reduce seams on long side walls, the engineered strand core resists hail better than aluminum or old vinyl, and the prefinished colors hold up under years of north-county sun exposure.
On a typical 1,000 to 1,400 square foot ranch wall area, LP SmartSide usually falls between vinyl and fiber cement on the quote. The exact Florissant number depends on how much rot or soft sheathing we uncover at tear-off, your trim scope, color package choices, and whether existing wall insulation needs to be added at the same time as the siding install.
Yes. The City of Florissant Building Department requires a permit for exterior work that changes the wall assembly, which includes a full re-side on a ranch home. We pull the permit under our Missouri license, submit the plan documents the city requires, and schedule any inspections so you do not have to coordinate any of the paperwork yourself with city hall.
LP SmartSide holds up to the hail that routinely dents aluminum and cracks aging vinyl across north county neighborhoods. The May 19, 2025 storm dropped 2-inch hail in Florissant and engineered wood substrate performs well on sun-exposed southwest elevations. We still inspect every elevation after major storms and document any damage for your insurer.
A single-story Florissant ranch typically runs five to eight working days from tear-off through final walkthrough, weather allowing. Larger homes, two-story elevations near Old Jamestown, or jobs that uncover rotted sheathing or damaged studs can run slightly longer. We give a day-by-day schedule at contract signing so you know what to expect each day.
Our workmanship warranty on LP SmartSide installs is 36 months as a firm baseline on every job we complete, with extended options up to lifetime available on selected product lines. The product itself carries a separate manufacturer warranty on the engineered strand substrate and prefinished coating, and we hand you all the paperwork at the final walkthrough.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
