Ready to talk tile for your Richmond Heights brick home? Call Mario and the Top Quality Exteriors crew at (314) 618-8888 or request a free inspection, and we will bring photos, honest options, and a clear written quote you can trust.
Tile roofing in Richmond Heights is a different job from shingles, and most homeowners learn that the first time a clay or concrete tile cracks after a storm. Your red-brick Tudor or bungalow near Big Bend and Hanley carries a far heavier roof than asphalt, and the May 16, 2025 EF3 tornado showed how falling limbs shatter tile on steep planes. Top Quality Exteriors installs, repairs, and replaces tile with the framing, deck, and flashing details that keep it dry. Whether it is Hampton Park or a modest cottage, we start with an honest look.
A tile roof is won or lost below the surface. We check rafters and replace weak plank or skip-sheathing common on 1930s homes, then lay underlayment, ice and water shield, battens, valley metal, and eave closures before the first tile ever goes up on your roof. Ridge and hip tile are set to code, every chimney gets step and counter-flashing, and we photograph each layer so you can see the work. Weighing materials? Compare tile with slate roofing in Richmond Heights for a similar historic look and feel.
Mid County sits in a hail corridor that sees three to five significant events a year, and tile does not shrug them all off. Clay is porous, so freeze-thaw cycles open hairline cracks that let water into battens and decking over a few winters. Concrete tile holds up to hail better but still breaks under tree limbs, the very damage the May 2025 tornado left near the Galleria and SSM St. Mary’s Hospital. Tudor roofs here have cut-up planes, dormers, and long valleys, so hip tile, valley metal, and counter-flashing at brick are where leaks start. Tile weighs far more than asphalt, so we confirm framing can carry it. Steep driveways and narrow streets also mean we plan the dumpster and tile pallets around neighbors and mature trees, so deliveries stay safe and your block stays passable. Berkshire and Hampton Park owners often ask about synthetic tile-look options that lighten the load. Our residential roofing in Richmond Heights crews walk you through each choice.
Installing tile in Richmond Heights should feel organized, not chaotic. Our five-step process protects your home from the first inspection to the final walkthrough, and the crew lead checks every detail before leaving your driveway.
We climb your roof and photograph cracked tile, ridge mortar, and flashing. You get a written report and an honest repair or replace call. No fee, no pressure, and no hard sell.
We compare clay, concrete, and synthetic tile for weight, look, and budget. Samples are held against your brick so you see the true color in daylight before you commit to anything.
Our crews remove old tile, check framing, and replace rotted decking. New underlayment, ice and water shield, and valley metal all go down before a single tile lands on the roof.
We set battens, lay tile course by course, and cut hips and valleys cleanly. Ridge tile and chimney flashing get the same care as the field, and hips and valleys are cut by hand.
We magnet-sweep the yard, check every ridge, and review photos with you. Your warranty paperwork is handed over before the crew lead signs off and leaves, and answer questions.
We are a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, licensed in Missouri and Illinois, and backed by 7+ years of hands-on industry experience under owner Mario Granados. Top Quality Exteriors was founded in 2022, and our 52+ team members work the same storm seasons you do. Every Richmond Heights tile roof is covered by our 36-month workmanship warranty, with extended coverage up to lifetime on select products and manufacturer warranties that vary by material.
Tile punishes sloppy work, so we pull every permit through the Richmond Heights Building Department and never shortcut flashing on a brick home. We carry general liability and workers’ compensation insurance, and our 24/7 emergency line stays staffed for nights when a limb lands on a roof. As an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor and a James Hardie Alliance Program Member, we hold ourselves to manufacturer standards. Call (314) 618-8888 and ask for Mario.
Tile roofing costs more per square than asphalt, and the gap grows on a Richmond Heights Tudor with steep pitch, dormers, and long valleys. Material choice drives the biggest swing: clay, concrete, and synthetic tile each price differently, and older plank sheathing may need re-decking or added framing support once the old roof is off. We quote in writing, break out every line item, and offer Hearth or GreenSky financing for qualified homeowners.
Value shows up over decades, not on day one. A well-installed tile roof with proper underlayment and flashing ends the cycle of small repairs, and a full roof replacement in Richmond Heights that includes new battens and valley metal resets the clock under the tile. Synthetic tile-look options trim weight and cost for homes where framing or budget is a limit, while keeping the character of the block. We show you real clay, concrete, and synthetic tradeoffs first.
Every credential we carry is a commitment to quality, safety, and your peace of mind — on every project, in every state we serve.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.Posted on Google![]()

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!Posted on Google![]()

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
