Siding Repair in Richmond Heights, MO

On a 1930s brick Tudor in Richmond Heights, the siding that fails first is rarely on the main walls. It’s the wood soffit, fascia, and gable trim up under the eaves, where moisture sits behind the boards and woodpeckers go to work. Our crew at Top Quality Exteriors handles siding repair in Richmond Heights, MO from Hampton Park to Big Bend, replacing rotted boards and cracked panels before water reaches the sheathing, the rafter tails, and the plaster ceilings below. Caught early, a repair of a few boards stays small and inexpensive.

A good repair starts with probing the trim and sheathing, not just patching what you can see. We cut out only the damaged sections, flash and seal where siding meets brick, and match profile and color as closely as the existing material allows. Every opened section gets new house wrap or flashing tape before it is closed back up. We re-nail loose pieces and reseal failed seams while we are there. If a wall needs more than patching, we’ll say so and walk you through siding installation in Richmond Heights as a next step, never as a pressure play.

Why Richmond Heights Calls Us

  • Rotted soffit, fascia, and trim cut out down to solid wood
  • Woodpecker holes repaired where the eaves meet old brick
  • 36-month workmanship warranty on every siding repair job

Eaves, Gables, and Brick Seams

Richmond Heights homes show their age at the roofline. On a 1930s bungalow or Tudor, the dormer cheeks, gable ends, and half-timbered accents are often wood or old composition siding, and the joint where that siding dies into brick is the first place water gets in. Add a mature tree canopy shading narrow Mid County streets, humid summers that keep boards damp, and freeze-thaw cycles that open every hairline gap, and soffit and fascia rot from the back side. Woodpeckers then drill the softened wood, and each hole lets in more moisture. We open up the damage, check the sheathing and rafter tails, replace rotted sections with primed wood or fiber cement trim, re-nail loose pieces, and reseal J-channel and butt joints. After the May 16, 2025 EF3 tornado and the hail since, many homes in 63117, 63143, and 63144 also have cracked or loose panels, and those jobs often overlap with storm damage siding repair in Richmond Heights. Larger scopes may need a permit from City of Richmond Heights Building & Zoning, and we tell you up front.

Our 5-Step Repair Process

Siding repair on a Richmond Heights home rarely stops at the one board you can see. Here’s the five-step path our crew follows, from the first look at your eaves to the final walkthrough, so you know exactly what happens at every single visit.

Inspect Eaves

We walk every elevation and check the soffit, fascia, and gables. Our crew probes trim with a pick and marks each soft spot. You get dated photos of every problem area we find.

Probe for Rot

We lift loose boards to see the sheathing underneath. Moisture at brick-to-trim joints gets traced back to its source. You see the damage in person, with photos, before pricing.

Remove Damage

Our crew cuts out only the rotted or cracked sections, never more. We shield your brick, gutters, and plantings while we work. Debris leaves with us at the end of each workday.

Match and Install

We choose primed wood, fiber cement, or panels that fit your existing profile. New pieces are flashed at the brick and nailed to spec. Color is matched as closely as possible.

Seal and Review

We caulk joints, seal J-channel, and prime or paint all new trim. Then we walk the job with you and check every repair together. Our 36-month workmanship warranty backs the work.

Why Richmond Heights Trusts Us

Top Quality Exteriors LLC is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, and a James Hardie Alliance Program Member. We were founded in 2022 and bring 7+ years of industry experience, a 52+ person team, Missouri licensing, and both general liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Every siding repair carries our 36-month workmanship warranty, with up to Lifetime coverage available on selected products.

In Richmond Heights, trust shows up in small details: protecting brick and landscaping on narrow streets, staging materials around steep driveways, and cutting out rot instead of caulking over it. We explain what we find, show you photos, and repair only what the wall needs. Our crew can tell 1930s lap siding profiles from newer panels, and we match trim thickness so the repair looks like it was always there. Sometimes the honest answer is that you don’t need us yet.

Repair Cost in Richmond Heights

Siding repair cost in Richmond Heights depends on how far the damage runs, not how many boards you can see. A few cracked panels on a gable is a short visit. Rot that has traveled into sheathing or rafter tails means more carpentry. Access matters too, since dormers and tall gable ends on Tudors call for ladders or lifts. Matching old trim profiles adds time as well. We price the job after we open up the damage, so the number reflects what we actually found.

Catching soft fascia early keeps water out of the wall, the attic, and your ceilings, and keeps a small repair from becoming a bigger one. If a wall is past patching, aging siding and discontinued colors are hard to match, and we’ll show you options like vinyl siding in Richmond Heights or fiber cement. Flexible financing through Hearth and GreenSky is available for qualified homeowners, and your free inspection carries no obligation and no pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cost depends on how many panels or boards are damaged, whether rot has reached the sheathing, and how high the work sits. A few loose panels is a quick fix, while rotted soffit and fascia takes more carpentry. We give an estimate after a free inspection of the walls, so you see the real scope and the reasons behind each line before any work starts or any money changes hands.
Yes. Woodpeckers usually target boards that are already soft from moisture, so we probe the surrounding wood before patching. Damaged sections are cut out and replaced with primed wood or fiber cement trim, then sealed and painted. Mature trees nearby draw woodpeckers, so we also look for the moisture source so the problem does not come back next season.
It depends on the scope. Small repairs often move forward without one, while larger work can need a permit from the City of Richmond Heights Building & Zoning Department. We check the rules for your address before starting and tell you exactly what applies, so there are no surprises once work begins. Call us with your address and we will tell you what applies.
We match profile, exposure, and color as closely as the existing material allows. Siding that has faded for years or a discontinued line is hard to match exactly, and we tell you that upfront. When the match falls short, we can repair a less visible section or show you replacement options for the wall. Fresh paint on new trim often hides the difference completely.
Most brick homes here only need repair, since the siding is limited to gables, dormers, and eaves. If rot or cracking has spread across a whole elevation, replacement may cost less over time than repeated repairs. We tell you honestly which fits your home, and we never push replacement when a repair will hold up. Gable and dormer walls often hold the worst damage.
Policies commonly cover sudden wind or hail damage, but not rot or wear from age. After the May 2025 tornado and recent hail, it is a fair question to ask in Richmond Heights. We document the damage with photos, explain what we see, and can meet your adjuster on site so your claim has solid support. Rot from age usually falls on the homeowner, so a clear inspection report helps.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
