Siding Installation in Richmond Heights, MO

Most Richmond Heights homes are 1930s red-brick bungalows and Tudors, so siding installation here rarely means wrapping the whole house. It means gables, dormers, half-timbered infill, soffit, fascia, and trim that have rotted, warped, or lost their paint after decades of humid summers and freeze-thaw swings. If that sounds like your eaves near Big Bend or Hanley, siding installation in Richmond Heights, MO from Top Quality Exteriors rebuilds those areas with durable materials that still look right against your original brick and woodwork.

We strip failed wood back to sound sheathing, then install house wrap, flashing tape, starter strip, J-channel, and trim before a single panel goes up. On Tudor gables we match lap profile and board-and-batten spacing to the original look, often with James Hardie siding in Richmond Heights for its resistance to rot and hail. Permits go through the City of Richmond Heights Building & Zoning Department, and the crew lead walks each elevation with you. Any hidden rot we find gets shown to you before it is covered up.

Signs You Need New Siding

  • Soft, peeling, or woodpecker-pocked soffit and fascia boards
  • Warped or cracked gable siding with gaps along the trim lines
  • Bubbling paint and mildew streaks on dormers and Tudor infill

Siding Built for Mid County Weather

Siding on a 1930s Richmond Heights home works harder than most. Gables and dormers take wind-driven rain from Mid County thunderstorms, south-facing Tudor infill bakes all summer, and freeze-thaw cycles pry open every gap at the trim. Wood soffit and fascia are usually the first to fail, since eaves stay damp. The region sees three to five significant hail events a year, and the May 16, 2025 EF3 tornado showed how fast flying limbs can rip into exposed eaves. For the brick streets of Hampton Park, Berkshire, and the 63117, 63143, and 63144 ZIP codes, we usually specify fiber cement on visible gables and trim, and budget-friendly vinyl siding in Richmond Heights on rear walls and additions. Narrow streets and steep driveways shape the job too, so we stage material in small bundles, keep scaffolding off the roadway, and plan the dumpster around your driveway grade. Behind the panels we repair sheathing, tape the house wrap seams, and flash windows and brick returns so water leaves the wall.

Our 5-Step Siding Process

Siding work on an older brick home needs a clear order of operations. Here is how our crew handles a Richmond Heights installation, from the first look at your gables to the final walkthrough, with permit guidance and cleanup covered along the way.

Free Inspection

We check gables, soffit, and fascia for rot and moisture on every elevation. You get photos and a written scope of work. We say which areas need siding now and which can wait.

Choose Materials

We bring fiber cement and vinyl samples right to your porch. We match lap, color, and trim to your brick and woodwork. You see the full price in writing before we start any work.

Check Permits

We confirm permit needs with Richmond Heights Building & Zoning. We tell you which inspections the city requires. Your start date firms up once the permit question is settled.

Prep and Install

We strip failed wood and repair the sheathing underneath it. House wrap and flashing go on before any panel touches the wall. Every course is nailed, sealed, and kept dead level.

Final Walkthrough

We walk every elevation with you and check each caulk line. A magnet sweep clears your yard and driveway of stray nails. You leave that day with your 36-month workmanship warranty.

A Siding Crew Mid County Trusts

We are a BBB Accredited Business, licensed in Missouri and Illinois, and insured with general liability and workers’ compensation coverage. Founded in 2022 and led by owner Mario Granados, our team of 52+ brings 7+ years of industry experience to every Richmond Heights elevation. As a James Hardie® Alliance Program Member, we install HardiePlank and trim to the manufacturer’s installation specs, which matters on gables that take weather from every direction.

Every installation carries our 36-month workmanship warranty, and extended workmanship coverage up to lifetime is available with selected products. Manufacturer warranties vary by material, so we explain each one before you sign. Any permit goes through the City of Richmond Heights, and our crew protects your landscaping and driveway on tight streets. Call (314) 618-8888 and ask for Mario. Our office is open weekdays from 8 to 5 if you would rather talk it through.

Siding Installation Cost Factors

Price follows how much of the house gets new siding, not just square footage. Two gables and a dormer is a small, targeted project; a full wrap on a two-story Berkshire home is a different scale. Material is the next lever: vinyl keeps the budget tight, while fiber cement costs more up front and shrugs off rot, hail, and woodpeckers. Old layers to remove, wood repair behind the siding, scaffolding on steep grades, and the count of corners and windows all move the number.

After the free inspection you get a written estimate that separates materials, labor, trim, and repair work. Financing through Hearth and GreenSky is available for qualified homeowners, so you can finish the whole front elevation at once instead of phasing it. Nothing starts until you sign off on the scope. If storm damage is part of the picture, we can meet your adjuster, and smaller fixes can start with siding repair in Richmond Heights first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cost depends on how many walls you side, the material, and what rot is hiding underneath. Trim-and-gable work on a bungalow costs far less than a full wrap, and vinyl costs less than fiber cement. We give a written estimate after a free in-person inspection of your home, so you see real numbers for your house instead of a ballpark from a neighbor or a website.
On brick homes, fiber cement is usually the better match for visible gables, dormers, and trim because it holds a crisp Tudor profile and resists rot and woodpeckers. Vinyl works well on rear walls, additions, and tighter budgets. We bring samples to your porch so you can judge color and texture against your brick before choosing. Both come with manufacturer warranties that vary by product.
The City of Richmond Heights Building & Zoning Department issues permits, and major exterior alterations generally need one from the Building Commissioner. Requirements depend on your scope of work, so we confirm with the city before we start. We tell you what your project needs and walk you through each step the city requires. Ask us early so the permit does not delay your start date.
Yes, and on brick homes that is the most common request. We replace gable siding, dormer cheeks, half-timbered infill, soffit, fascia, and trim, then match the profile and color to your brick and existing woodwork. You can phase the work, starting with the worst side. It protects the weakest parts of the exterior without the cost of wrapping walls that were never covered in siding.
Gable-and-trim projects usually take days, not weeks, while a full wrap runs longer. Cut-up Tudor walls with many corners, dormers, and windows need more cutting and flashing than a plain ranch. Steep driveways and narrow streets add setup time. Rain and freezing temperatures can pause work, and we tell you the schedule at the estimate, then call if weather changes it.
Hail and wind damage are often covered by homeowners policies, though coverage depends on your policy and deductible. Storms like the May 2025 outbreak can crack trim and dent soffit on older homes. We photograph the damage, write up the scope, and can meet your adjuster at the house so nothing gets missed. Photos taken soon after a storm make the claim much easier.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
