Ready to replace the failing gables, dormers or soffits on your Richmond Heights home? Call Mario’s team at (314) 618-8888 and we will inspect your gables and soffits, walk through your SmartSide options, and hand you a clear written plan.
Brick keeps a 1930s Richmond Heights bungalow standing, but the wood around it gives out first: gable ends, dormer cheeks, soffit and fascia take the rain, the woodpeckers and the freeze-thaw swings. LP SmartSide siding in Richmond Heights, MO replaces that rotted lumber with engineered wood strand boards with SmartGuard treatment against moisture and decay. Top Quality Exteriors installs it as targeted gable, dormer and trim work, so your original brick and Tudor lines stay in the picture instead of disappearing behind a full wrap.
SmartSide lap boards run 16 feet, so a long gable needs fewer seams to caulk and paint. We strip the failed boards, replace bad sheathing, flash every opening and nail the new courses to the manufacturer’s spec. Choose factory-finished ExpertFinish boards or primed boards painted on site to match your brick. If you want to weigh a cement-based option first, compare our fiber cement siding in Richmond Heights page. Narrow streets and steep driveways here mean we plan board staging before the first delivery arrives.
Engineered wood suits Richmond Heights because it gives you a painted-wood look without the repaint-and-repair cycle that plain lumber demands. LP’s treated strand boards take a saw, a nail gun and a brush much like lumber, which matters on the half-timbered gables in Hampton Park and Berkshire. Humid summers soak untreated trim, freeze-thaw swings split it, and the metro’s hail corridor dents soft boards. The EF3 tornado that crossed the city on May 16, 2025 showed how fast flying limbs can crack an exposed gable. Homeowners near Big Bend and Hanley in 63117, 63143 and 63144 often ask how this compares with James Hardie siding in Richmond Heights, and if you want a thermal upgrade, our insulated siding in Richmond Heights page covers the foam-backed route. Siding work can require a permit through the City of Richmond Heights Building & Zoning Department, so confirm requirements before work begins. LP also makes matching trim and soffit, so gables and eaves can come out as one finished look.
From the first walk-around to the final cleanup, here is how we handle LP SmartSide work on a Richmond Heights home. Every step is built around brick walls, tight streets and a written scope you approve before any board comes off.
We walk each gable, dormer and soffit with you and probe the boards for soft spots. Photos mark what has failed and what is still sound. You get a written scope of what needs work.
We measure every elevation and pick board widths that match your existing reveal. You choose the color, finish and trim profile. We map staging around your driveway and the street.
We pull the failed boards and replace any rotted sheathing underneath. New house wrap and flashing tape go on at every window. Your brick, sash and landscaping stay protected.
We hang the 16-foot boards with correct gaps and nail placement. Joints and cut edges get sealed against moisture and rain. Trim, soffit and fascia are painted to match your brick.
We walk the finished walls with you and fix any miss on the spot. A magnet sweep covers the lawn and driveway for stray nails. You receive your warranty paperwork when we finish.
Top Quality Exteriors was founded in 2022, and owner Mario Granados brings 7+ years of industry experience to every wall. We are a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, licensed in Missouri and Illinois, and our manufacturer credentials are Owens Corning® Preferred Contractor and James Hardie® Alliance Program Member. Our 52+ team members work on brick-heavy streets around Big Bend and Hanley, where flashing at every opening matters more than speed.
Every siding job carries our 36-month workmanship warranty, extended up to lifetime with selected products. LP SmartSide coverage comes from the manufacturer and varies by product, so we read the terms with you before you sign. We carry general liability and workers’ compensation insurance. After a storm like the May 2025 tornado, our 24/7 emergency response line is staffed. Call (314) 618-8888 and ask for Mario about your gables, dormers or soffits.
Price comes down to footage, board profile, trim detail, factory or field finish, and how much sheathing has rotted behind the old boards. A gable, dormer and fascia refresh costs far less than wrapping the whole house, and on a brick home that is often all you need. Access counts too: steep driveways and narrow streets add handling time, and we put that in writing before work starts. You see each elevation priced on its own, with trim and soffit broken out.
The value shows up in the years after install. Factory-primed boards hold paint longer than raw lumber, fewer seams mean fewer places for water to creep in, and a clean, sound exterior helps when you list a home. Qualified homeowners can finance through Hearth or GreenSky. If hail or the May 2025 tornado damaged your walls, we document the damage with photos for your insurance claim. Ask for the written estimate first, then compare it line by line.
Every credential we carry is a commitment to quality, safety, and your peace of mind — on every project, in every state we serve.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.Posted on Google![]()

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!Posted on Google![]()

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
