Any questions?

Fiber Cement Siding in Richmond Heights, MO

Wood trim on a 1930s Richmond Heights brick home takes a beating: gable boards swell in humid summers, dormer cheeks crack every January, and soffits stay damp long after a storm. Fiber cement siding in Richmond Heights, MO from Top Quality Exteriors swaps that failing wood for a cement-and-cellulose board that won’t rot, warp, or feed termites, and it takes paint far better than the original cedar. It suits the brick bungalows and Tudors around Hampton Park, Berkshire, and Big Bend Boulevard, where the brick is sound and the wood around it is what fails.

We install lap, shingle, and vertical panel profiles, pre-finished or field-painted to match your brick and window sash. Houses sit close together on many blocks here, so a fire-resistant board carries real weight. Already set on one manufacturer? Our James Hardie siding in Richmond Heights page covers the line we install as a James Hardie® Alliance Program Member. Narrow streets and steep driveways shape our staging, since the boards are heavy and need cutting well away from your shrubs and flower beds.

Why Owners Choose Fiber Cement

  • Resists rot, moisture, and insects on gables and dormers
  • Holds paint through humid summers and freeze-thaw swings
  • Fire-resistant boards that suit tightly spaced older homes

Fiber Cement vs. Wood and Vinyl

Wood trim is the weak link on a pre-war brick house, and vinyl isn’t a clean swap either: it can crack in a January cold snap and can’t copy the shadow lines of Tudor half-timbering. Fiber cement stays dimensionally stable through the freeze-thaw cycles that pry open caulk joints each winter, and a factory finish or two coats of field paint holds through humid summers. Hail is the other test. Spring storm seasons here test every exterior, and the May 16, 2025 EF3 tornado showed what flying limbs do to exposed eaves across the city. Owners in Berkshire and Hampton Park, and across 63117, 63143, and 63144, sometimes price LP SmartSide siding in Richmond Heights, an engineered-wood alternative, as a comparison. We hold both samples against your brick and let the profiles decide. Before any board goes up, we flash windows and brick returns, tape the house wrap seams, and check the roof-to-wall joint, because water behind siding does its damage out of sight.

Our 5-Step Siding Process

Every Richmond Heights fiber cement job follows the same five steps, so you always know what comes next. Here’s how we take your gables, dormers, and soffits from a first walk-around to a clean yard and a finished, fully caulked wall.

Inspect the Walls

We probe gables, dormers, and soffits for soft wood and moisture. Photos mark each spot where rot has spread. You then get a written scope listing what must go and what can wait.

Pick Your Profile

We hold lap, shingle, and panel samples up against your brick. You choose the profile, finish, and trim width with our guidance. Every line is priced in writing before we order.

Plan the Job

We plan board staging around the narrow streets and steep driveways here. You settle on trim color, finish, and profile with us. Then we agree on a start date that works for you.

Hang Fiber Cement

We cut out failed wood, flash every opening, and fasten each board. Cut edges get sealed and joints stay tight against moisture. Trim lines up square with your brick and roofline.

Final Walkthrough

We walk each elevation with you and check every caulk line. A magnet sweep clears stray nails and offcuts from your yard and driveway. Your 36-month workmanship warranty starts.

Fiber Cement Siding Cost Breakdown

Fiber cement siding across the St. Louis metro is priced by the installed square foot, so the real question is how many square feet of gable, dormer, or full wall you’re covering. Re-siding two gables and a dormer on a Hampton Park bungalow is a small job; every elevation of a four-bedroom Berkshire Tudor is not. Pre-finished boards cost more than field-painted ones but skip a painting step, and rot behind old wood, scaffolding on steep grades, and busy trim all move the total.

You’ll get an itemized written estimate that separates boards, trim, labor, and wood repair. Fiber cement costs more up front than vinyl siding in Richmond Heights, but it needs repainting far less often than wood and won’t warp in summer heat, which is why owners put it on visible elevations first. Hearth and GreenSky financing is available for qualified homeowners, so you can finish the whole front at once. Nothing starts until you approve the scope in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fiber cement siding in Richmond Heights is priced by the installed square foot, plus trim and finish. A full wrap on a two-story home costs far more than the gables-and-soffit work most brick homes here need, and wood repair behind the old boards adds to it. We send a written estimate that itemizes boards, trim, labor, and repairs, so you see where each dollar goes.
Yes, and it works best as accent work rather than a full wrap. On a 1930s Tudor, fiber cement replaces rotted gable infill, dormer cheeks, soffit, and fascia while the original brick stays untouched. Painted to match your brick and window sash, the new boards keep the shadow lines and character that make these homes recognizable. Samples go against your brick before we order.
Siding work in Richmond Heights can often require a permit from the city’s Building and Zoning Department, depending on the scope. Requirements can change with the size of the job, so check with the city before materials are ordered. The Building and Zoning Department is the right place to confirm permit needs, fees, and inspections for your address.
Missouri swings from humid summers to hard freezes, and that range is tough on vinyl, which can crack in cold snaps and warp in summer heat. Fiber cement stays dimensionally stable and holds paint well. Vinyl costs less up front, so many owners use fiber cement on visible gables and dormers and keep vinyl for rear walls or additions. Both work well when matched to the wall.
Fiber cement is known for a long service life when it is installed with proper flashing and kept painted or sealed at the joints. That is the material, not a promise. Our workmanship is covered by a 36-month warranty, extended coverage up to lifetime is available on selected products, and manufacturer warranties vary by product, so ask us to explain them.
Dense fiber cement resists woodpecker pecking, rot, and insects far better than wood soffit and fascia. Severe hail can still chip or crack any siding, though, and St. Louis hail seasons test every exterior. If a storm damages your walls, we document it with photos so you have a record for your insurer. Fiber cement also holds paint far longer than wood.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
