Fiber Cement Siding in St. Louis, MO

Most St. Louis homes are load-bearing red brick from the Cheltenham clay era, so fiber cement siding in St. Louis rarely means wrapping a whole house from corner to corner. It usually means replacing the wood cornices, soffits, fascia, dormer cheeks, and rear-addition walls that rot after decades of humid summers and hard freeze-thaw winters. If your Dutchtown bungalow or Tower Grove two-flat has splitting soffits, peeling fascia trim, or a rear addition losing paint every spring, Top Quality Exteriors scopes the job to what your brick facade actually needs today.

Fiber cement is a paintable blend of Portland cement, sand, and cellulose fiber engineered to shrug off hail impact, fire, moisture, and wood-boring insects for 60-plus years. On brick homes near Bevo Mill and Lafayette Square, we install fiber cement lap, shingle, panel, and matching trim profiles from Alliance-tier manufacturers, backed by a firm 36-month workmanship warranty and product warranties up to 30 years. Compare our approach against vinyl siding in St. Louis and the longevity difference is obvious.

Why Fiber Cement Fits St. Louis

  • Class A fire rating handles ember drift from grill sparks.
  • Rot-proof body shrugs off Mississippi River humidity year-round.
  • Termite-proof panels protect rear-addition frame walls.

Built for Brick-City Realities

Fiber cement lands differently on a St. Louis brick two-flat than it does on a suburban frame ranch, and our crews plan the job accordingly. On Soulard rowhouses and Holly Hills bungalows, we tear off failed wood trim down to the sheathing, install a fresh weather barrier, and hand-cut fiber cement to fit around limestone sills, brick returns, dormer cheeks, and coping. We use stainless or galvanized ring-shank nails at the manufacturer blind-nail pattern, back-caulk butt joints, and prime every cut edge because a raw edge in humid Missouri air is where rot starts. Rear-addition wraps get rigid-foam underlayment and taped seams for real R-value, not just a cosmetic layer. For homeowners planning a full replacement of the frame portions of a home, our James Hardie siding in St. Louis crews are Alliance Program Members, so ColorPlus panels and 30-year non-prorated warranty work is installed to spec. Every scope is documented with photos and a written line-item estimate before we start.

Our Fiber Cement Process

Getting fiber cement installed on a St. Louis brick home is not a one-truck operation, and we do not treat it that way. We follow a five-step process so the finished siding holds up through hail season, ice storms, and the humid summers between them.

Free Site Visit

We meet you at the home, walk every wall, and photograph rot and hail damage. We measure each elevation and note brick-to-frame junctions carefully. Our visit runs about an hour.

Scope & Estimate

Back at the office we build a line-item scope covering tear-off, trim, panels, and paint. You get a written estimate within two business days. We walk every line before you sign.

Material Order

We pull colors, profiles, and trim from your approved list and stage all materials. Fiber cement ships on pallets that need dry storage on-site. We coordinate the drop with you.

Precision Install

Crews tear off failed trim, install weather barrier, and blind-nail every panel to spec. Butt joints get back-caulked and every cut edge is primed. Site stays swept clean nightly.

Final Walkthrough

We power-wash the work zone, run a magnetic sweep for nails, and walk every elevation. Punch-list items get fixed the same day when we can. Your workmanship warranty starts here.

Why St. Louis Homeowners Trust Us

Top Quality Exteriors was founded in 2022 on the back of over 7 years of industry experience installing siding, soffit, and fascia across the St. Louis area. We are a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, licensed in both Missouri and Illinois, and carry general liability and workers compensation insurance on every crew that steps on your property. Homeowners near Forest Park and the Bevo Mill windmill hire us because we scope brick homes honestly.

We are also a James Hardie Alliance Program Member, so our fiber cement crews trained directly on Hardie install specs, flashing details, and ColorPlus finish handling. That training pays off during humid Missouri weeks when fiber cement is easiest to install wrong. For homeowners weighing their material options, we compare fiber cement lap against engineered wood from our LP SmartSide siding in St. Louis crews side by side in your own yard, no upsell script involved.

Fiber Cement Cost in St. Louis

Fiber cement siding installed in the St. Louis area runs roughly eight to fourteen dollars per square foot, with the average full-frame install landing around fourteen thousand three hundred dollars. On a brick home in Dutchtown or The Hill where we are only replacing cornices, dormer cheeks, soffits, and a rear addition, the total is usually far lower because the covered square footage is much smaller than a whole-house wrap. Every free estimate is line-item and honest.

Financing runs through Hearth and GreenSky for qualified homeowners, so a full frame wrap on a Lafayette Square carriage house does not have to hit savings all at once. Fiber cement is a long-horizon investment: a 60-plus-year lifespan spread over a monthly payment often costs less per year than repainting cedar every five years. Ask about extended workmanship warranty options and product warranties up to 30 years non-prorated when we quote your project this season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fiber cement siding in St. Louis typically runs eight to fourteen dollars per square foot installed, with an average full-frame job landing around fourteen thousand three hundred dollars. Trim-only scopes on brick two-flats or bungalows cost far less because only cornices, soffits, and dormers get wrapped. Every free written estimate breaks the number into line items.
Fiber cement is engineered for a 60-plus-year service life, which handily outlasts the twenty to thirty years typical of wood or vinyl in the humid Missouri climate. Class A fire rating, deep rot resistance, and hard-shell insect resistance help it hold up through St. Louis hail, freeze-thaw, and heat. Manufacturer warranties reach up to thirty years non-prorated.
Yes, and that is exactly where most St. Louis fiber cement work actually happens on the ground. Brick two-flats and rowhouses have wood cornices, dormer cheeks, soffits, fascia, and rear frame additions that rot over the decades. Our crews replace those pieces in fiber cement while leaving the load-bearing brick and coping stones fully undisturbed above.
Most siding jobs in the City of St. Louis are handled through the Building Division, and a permit is typically required when the material changes or more than 25 percent of the sheathing behind it gets replaced. Historic districts like Soulard and Lafayette Square may also need Preservation Board sign-off before install. We pull every permit for you.
James Hardie is the best-known brand of fiber cement siding on the market, but the category also covers Nichiha and Allura panel lines. All three share the same Portland cement, sand, and cellulose fiber base recipe. We are a James Hardie Alliance Program Member, so we install Hardie to spec and can also quote other fiber cement brands side by side.
A trim-only cornice, soffit, and fascia scope on a St. Louis brick bungalow typically finishes inside three to five working days from tear-off to final sweep. A full frame-wrap on a rear addition or a Holly Hills wood-frame home can run seven to fourteen days, weather permitting. Every schedule is confirmed in writing up front before we mobilize crews.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
