If a stretch of fascia is peeling, a dormer is bare, or a rear addition needs to lose its cedar for good, let’s talk. We’ll walk your home, quote real numbers, and show you Hardie samples in the finish that fits your brick. No pressure.
Most homes in St. Louis stand on load-bearing red brick, so a James Hardie siding project in the city rarely means a full-house wrap. It usually means fiber cement on the parts that failed first — rotted soffits above a Bevo Mill bungalow, a splintered rear addition off a Dutchtown two-flat, or a Hill dormer that keeps peeling. Top Quality Exteriors handles that kind of surgical Hardie work across the city, and we do it as a James Hardie Alliance Program Member, so the ColorPlus finish and every install detail hold to Hardie’s spec sheet.
Hardie’s fiber cement handles what wood cannot on a hundred-year-old city home — humid Missouri summers, driving spring rain, freeze-thaw stress off the Mississippi, and hail that shows up three to five times a year in the metro. It resists rot, cupping, and woodpecker damage, and its ColorPlus factory finish holds without fading through the South City sun. When you need a broader material comparison, our fiber cement siding in St. Louis page walks through panel, lap, and shingle profiles side by side.
On brick homes across Bevo Mill, The Hill, Dutchtown, and Tower Grove South, the wood parts fail long before the brick does. Fascia boards behind clogged gutters swell and split. Cornice returns above upper windows lose their paint film. Porch ceilings sag after decades of humid summers. Hardie’s fiber cement replaces those pieces one-for-one, matches the existing reveal, and locks in a factory finish that beats site-painted wood on this housing stock. On the wood-frame pockets — mid-century ranches on the far south side, carriage houses off alleys in Soulard, or rear additions built off older masonry — Hardie panel and lap go up as full walls with proper Z-flashing at brick-to-frame transitions. We coordinate every job with the City Building Division and, in Preservation Board districts, submit product data before we tear anything down. Our full siding installation in St. Louis workflow keeps that paperwork moving in parallel with the crew. That way permits and Preservation sign-offs don’t hold up the tear-off.
Here’s how a James Hardie job runs at our shop, from the first phone call to the last piece of trim. It’s the same order whether we’re replacing forty feet of fascia in Holly Hills or wrapping a rear addition in Carondelet. No sub-outs, no surprises.
We walk your home top to bottom and note every rotted board, cracked trim piece, and peeling paint film. We photograph problem spots and share them. Then we quote real numbers.
You pick from Hardie’s HardiePlank lap, HardiePanel sheet, and HardieShingle profiles. We match ColorPlus finishes to your existing brick and trim. Samples in hand before you sign.
We pull the City of St. Louis permit and, in historic districts, file with the Preservation Board. Then we set up staging and protect landscaping. Tear-off starts on schedule.
Our crews cut Hardie on-site with dust-control saws and blind-nail every course. We add Z-flashing at brick-to-frame joints and hold the 1/4-inch gap. Caulk lines get pulled tight.
We walk the finished exterior with you and check every reveal, gap, and touch-up spot. Debris and offcuts leave with our crew. Then we hand over paperwork and warranty documents.
We joined the James Hardie Alliance Program because it forces us to install Hardie to the letter — flashing details, fastener schedule, clearances, caulk joints, and the ColorPlus touch-up regimen. Alliance status means we’re a trained installer in Hardie’s network with direct manufacturer support on our side. Behind that, our company is BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, licensed in Missouri and Illinois, and carries both general liability and workers’ compensation.
Founded in 2022 by owner Mario A. Granados, our team carries more than 7 years of exterior work behind it, most of it on St. Louis brick homes. We back every install with a 36-month workmanship warranty, and select Hardie systems qualify for lifetime coverage on top of James Hardie’s product warranty. If a coping stone leak, ice dam, or storm gust opens something up after we’re gone, our 24/7 emergency response line is real and answers direct.
Small city Hardie jobs — a rotted fascia run, a single dormer face, a rear porch ceiling — usually land in the $2,800 to $6,500 range, depending on access, prep, and how much soffit repair opens up once we pull the trim. Rear-addition full wraps on modest wood-frame walls typically run $9,000 to $16,000. A whole-house re-side on a mid-century wood-frame home on the south or north edges of the city — the rare full wrap — is more often a $24,000 to $45,000 project.
Hardie costs more per square than vinyl or wood, and there’s no getting around that at the invoice. Where the money comes back is longevity: fiber cement carries a 30-year non-prorated substrate warranty and a 15-year ColorPlus finish warranty from James Hardie, and it doesn’t require repainting every 5 to 7 years like primed cedar trim. For a real material head-to-head, our LP SmartSide siding in St. Louis page lays out the trade-offs.
Every credential we carry is a commitment to quality, safety, and your peace of mind — on every project, in every state we serve.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.Posted on Google![]()

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!Posted on Google![]()

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
