Emergency Roof Tarping in Richmond Heights

When a tree limb or hail impact tears open your roof on a 1930s brick Tudor off Big Bend Boulevard, every hour of exposed decking turns into drywall, insulation, and framing damage inside the house. Our Top Quality Exteriors crew runs emergency roof tarping in Richmond Heights, MO with a 24/7 after-hours line, so the inside of your bungalow stays dry while you wait on a permanent repair. The May 2025 tornado outbreak showed exactly how fast these old brick homes soak through once a valley is torn open and left exposed to the next rain cell.

Our 24/7 emergency response covers Berkshire, Hampton Park, and the Galleria corridor off Hanley Road, and every tarp job doubles as a free damage assessment for your eventual claim. We walk the roof, photograph the impact zones around chimneys, valleys, and dormers, and hand you a documented scope that pairs with our storm damage roofing in Richmond Heights workflow. If the loss started with the May 2025 EF3 tornado, we already know the local adjusters out here and the Xactimate scope they will expect.

Why Richmond Heights Trusts Us

  • 24/7 after-hours emergency line, staffed year-round in Missouri
  • Heavy-duty tarps installed to shed rain and resist wind gusts
  • Photo-documented damage packet for your insurance adjuster

Fast Tarping Built For Older Roofs

When the May 16, 2025 EF3 tornado tracked right through Richmond Heights and the mayor declared a State of Emergency, uprooted oaks and maples came down on steep, multi-gable Tudor roofs across Areas 4 and 5. That is the kind of damage this service is built for: a split branch opens a slot across a valley, rain floods the attic, and the clock starts on soaked plank sheathing underneath the original layers. Our crews stage off narrow, winding streets and get a heavy-duty polyethylene tarp over the opening as soon as the on-call team reaches you, fastened into solid decking so wind gusts have nothing loose to peel back. We flash the tarp over the ridge, run it two feet past each eave, and seal around the brick chimneys where step and counter-flashing already live. On the pre-war bungalows that line Maryland Terrace and Richmond Heights West, we note any soft or spongy decking now and feed every finding into the emergency roof repair in Richmond Heights plan.

Our Five-Step Tarping Process

Here is how a Richmond Heights tarp call plays out, from the first ring on our 24/7 after-hours line to the follow-up repair plan on your kitchen table. Every step is run by a licensed Missouri crew with eyes on your decking, flashing, and the clock.

Call Our Hotline

Dial our 24/7 emergency line and reach a live Missouri dispatcher. I ask for your Richmond Heights address, opening size, and water location. Then the on-call tarp crew rolls out.

On-Site Response

The on-call crew heads to your Richmond Heights home after dispatch. I bring tarps sized for cut-up Tudor pitches, fasteners, and sealant. You get a call before the truck pulls in.

Secure The Roof

We ladder up and set a heavy-duty polyethylene tarp over the open valley. I run the sheet past the ridge and fasten it into solid decking. Water into your attic stops right away.

Document Damage

Before I pack up, I photograph every impact point on the whole roof. I date-stamp shots of hail bruising on shingles, flashing, and pipe boots. You keep the full damage packet.

Plan The Repair

We sit at your table and walk the photos together on screen. I explain whether a patch works or whether 1930s plank decking needs tear-off. You get a written estimate same visit.

The Local Crew You Can Reach Fast

Top Quality Exteriors is Missouri-licensed, BBB-accredited with an A+ rating, and carries general liability plus workers compensation on every truck that rolls out of our Olive Boulevard office. Our owner, Mario A. Granados, started the company in 2022 after seven years in the local trade, and our 52-member team now serves the inner-ring Mid County area just south of Clayton. When you call for emergency tarping, our staffed after-hours line picks up.

We back every tarp job with a 36-month workmanship warranty, which covers the fastening pattern and the tarp seal for the full life of the temporary cover on your roof. If a seam opens or a fastener pulls before your permanent repair is scheduled, we return and address it under that warranty. Hearth and GreenSky financing is on the table for the full repair, so insurance timing does not have to slow down getting your Richmond Heights home sealed up for good.

What Roof Tarping Costs And Covers

Emergency tarping cost in Richmond Heights varies by the size of your roof and the size of the opening we are covering, so we walk the damage first and quote the job on site. A heavy-duty polyethylene tarp holds for roughly two weeks before UV and wind start breaking it down, which is the window most insurance supplements and material orders need. Your Missouri homeowner deductible, usually $1,000 to $2,500, is often the only out-of-pocket cost.

Most homeowner policies treat emergency tarping as covered mitigation, since the alternative is tens of thousands in interior water damage — always confirm the specifics with your own carrier before signing. We bill cleanly through RCV or ACV scopes, attach Xactimate-ready photos, and can join the adjuster inspection when you invite us. Any storm damage restoration in Richmond Heights work after we tarp follows the same documented, insurance-ready path end to end.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our 24/7 after-hours emergency line is staffed year-round, so a live Missouri dispatcher takes your call at any hour, day or night. We serve Richmond Heights from our Creve Coeur office off Olive Boulevard, so the city is a short run for the on-call crew. On nights and weekends the line routes straight to the roofer who is handling the tarp rotation that night.
Yes, in almost every case. Most Missouri homeowner policies treat emergency tarping as covered mitigation, because an untarped roof costs carriers far more in interior damage down the line — confirm the specifics with your own carrier. We hand you Xactimate-ready photos and a scope that drops cleanly into your claim, and the deductible is usually the only expense.
Tarping cost varies by roof size and the size of the opening we are covering, so we quote on site after a short walk of the damage with you. Larger openings on multi-gable Tudor roofs come in higher than a single-panel tear on a simple ranch. Your Missouri homeowner deductible, typically $1,000 to $2,500, is usually the only out-of-pocket number once the claim closes.
A properly installed polyethylene tarp holds for roughly two weeks before UV, wind, and freeze-thaw cycles start loosening the fasteners around the whole perimeter. That window matches the time most insurance supplements and shingle orders take to come through. Our 36-month workmanship warranty covers the tarp install the entire time it is on the roof.
Every day. Much of Richmond Heights is pre-war brick housing with cut-up roof planes, multiple valleys, and dormered gables, and our crews are set up for that pitch with proper staging and fall protection. We also note any soft or spongy plank decking we feel underfoot so the permanent repair plan accounts for re-decking and underlayment along the valleys and eaves.
Move cars out of the driveway so our ladder truck has staging room on the narrow Richmond Heights streets. Put buckets under active interior drips and shift any furniture off wet carpet. Do not climb the roof yourself. Take phone photos of visible damage from the ground. Then wait for the on-call crew and we will take care of the full response safely.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
