Emergency Roof Repair in Richmond Heights

When a storm cracks open your roof in the middle of the night, every minute matters before water starts tracking down drywall and ruining 1930s hardwood floors. Emergency roof repair in Richmond Heights means answering the phone at 2 a.m., rolling a truck to your Big Bend or Hanley Road address, and getting a controlled stop on the leak before the rain starts again. The Top Quality Exteriors crew has walked Berkshire porches and Hampton Park gables in the dark after wind events, and we know how fast a dormered Tudor can turn one bad shingle into a soaked ceiling.

Fast triage is the whole job. We tarp active openings with 20-mil poly, swap missing shingles, reseal flashing at masonry chimneys, and replace cracked valley metal so the leak quits before the next drop lands. From there we document each spot with photos and measurements for your adjuster, then book a return trip for permanent roof repair in Richmond Heights once the weather clears. Pre-WWII brick homes on these narrow, winding streets need a steady hand, not a one-size approach — our Missouri-licensed crews treat every call that way.

What Our 24/7 Response Covers

  • 24/7 live dispatch to Richmond Heights addresses, not voicemail
  • Emergency tarping, shingle swaps, and masonry flashing reseals
  • Photo-documented damage write-ups ready for your adjuster

Why Richmond Heights Calls Us First

The May 16, 2025 EF3 tornado tracked through town with winds near 150 mph, uprooted mature trees onto Berkshire and Hampton Park roofs, and dropped limbs across narrow lanes near The Heights and the Galleria corridor. We spent the days after that outbreak climbing steep Tudor planes, chasing down torn ridge caps and bent step flashing on 1930s brick-chimney transitions, and we have kept the same emergency protocol ever since. When hail rolls through 63117, 63143, or 63144, our Missouri- and Illinois-licensed crews can be on your roof the same day with 20-mil tarps, ice-and-water shield for exposed deck areas, and replacement ridge vents sized to match. Pre-war plank sheathing hides under many of these roofs, so a quick patch sometimes needs re-decking first — we flag it on the first visit and pair the fix with emergency roof tarping in Richmond Heights while materials stage. Our 36-month workmanship warranty backs every call, and we close with photos for your file and a path to permanent repair.

Our 5-Step Emergency Protocol

When your phone rings at 2 a.m. and water is already in the hallway, you need a plan, not a sales pitch. Here is exactly how our Richmond Heights crews move from your first call to a sealed-up, dry roof — one controlled step at a time.

Live Call Intake

Your call rings a live dispatcher any hour. We log the Richmond Heights address, the storm you’re facing, and the active leak location. A lead is paged within minutes to roll out.

On-Site Triage

We arrive, walk the roof, and find every active opening. Our tech photographs torn shingles, bent flashing, and impact spots. You get a plain-spoken readout before any work starts.

Stop the Water

The leak comes first. We lay 20-mil tarps across torn planes, secure them with battens, and seal every edge. By the time we’re off the roof, the intrusion is done for the night.

Patch and Repair

Next come the fixes we can finish on-site. We swap missing shingles, reset step flashing at brick chimneys, and reseal ridge caps. Structural work stays flagged for a return trip.

Document and Plan

Before we leave, you get a photo set, written notes, and a scope for the fix. We hand that package to your adjuster and offer to attend the inspection. Then we book the follow-up.

Local Experience You Can Verify

Richmond Heights is dense with 1930s brick stock, and that pre-war housing style demands a crew that actually knows it. Our installers have worked Berkshire, Hampton Park, and the Maryland Terrace pocket since Top Quality Exteriors was founded in 2022, and the owner-led team brings over 7 years of industry experience. We hold Owens Corning® Preferred Contractor status and are a James Hardie® Alliance Program Member, which keeps materials moving when storms strip supply.

After the May 16, 2025 EF3 tornado tore through town and the mayor declared a State of Emergency, our phone did not stop until the last tarp was down. We are BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, licensed in Missouri and Illinois, and carry general liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Every emergency job is backed by our 36-month workmanship warranty, and we pair fast fixes with full storm damage roofing in Richmond Heights once your claim is squared away.

What an Emergency Call Costs

Pricing for an emergency roof repair in Richmond Heights depends on how deep the damage runs and how fast the work must happen. A tarp-and-shingle visit on a bungalow usually falls lower than a multi-plane fix on a Tudor with torn valley metal and broken flashing at every brick chimney. Access matters too — narrow lanes and steep driveways in Berkshire mean smaller trucks, extra ground protection, and more labor hours than a flat subdivision call.

We never guess at a number from the sidewalk. Every quote starts with a free, no-obligation inspection where we climb the roof, photograph each damaged area, and build a line-item scope for your insurance company. If the damage is clearly storm-caused, we will attend the adjuster meeting with you — Missouri law allows that, and the single step cuts back-and-forth later. Hearth and GreenSky financing are both available for qualified Richmond Heights homeowners.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our emergency dispatch is live 24/7, and we aim to have a crew on-site within 60 to 90 minutes anywhere inside 63117, 63143, or 63144. During active storm nights the queue can stretch, so we lead with a verbal plan and a tarp estimate while you wait. The office follows up by 8 a.m. the next business day to confirm return visits and schedule the permanent fix.
Yes. Masonry chimneys on 1930s Richmond Heights homes are a classic leak point because step and counter-flashing wear out faster than the shingles around them. We tarp the chimney cricket and seal the brick-to-shingle transition so water quits running down into the attic. Permanent flashing replacement gets scheduled on the return trip once the storm clears.
Most homeowner policies in Missouri cover sudden storm damage, and emergency mitigation like tarping is almost always reimbursable because it stops further loss. We document each damaged area with dated photos, measurements, and a written scope you can hand straight to your adjuster. If you want, we attend the adjuster meeting with you so nothing gets missed on the first pass.
That is extremely common on pre-war brick homes here. Original plank or skip-sheathing often shows up during tear-off, and modern asphalt shingles need solid plywood or OSB below to seat correctly. If we open a section and find spaced boards, we flag it right away and quote re-decking as a separate line item before the permanent repair goes down. No surprise charges.
Yes. Low-slope and flat sections at Brentwood Forest are a TPO and modified-bitumen job, not an asphalt-shingle job, and we handle both for emergency and planned work. HOA and board coordination is part of our normal process, so we work directly with the association on material color, scope approval, and timeline. Our crews stage work around neighbor access without blocking drives.
Yes. We work insurance claims every week after the May 2025 outbreak proved how fast an EF3 can hit this city. Our scope packets include dated photos, measurements, trade-specific line items, and a plain-language damage summary your adjuster can process without a second trip. We also attend the on-site adjuster inspection whenever you want us there, which Missouri law supports.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
