Ready for a straight answer on your flat roof? Call our St. Louis team at (314) 618-8888 or send us a quick note; we will book a rooftop walkthrough that fits your week and leave you with a written scope you can hold an adjuster to.
Behind the brick parapets of Dutchtown two-flats and Soulard rowhouses, low-slope roofs quietly hold back St. Louis weather that would punish anything less. Top Quality Exteriors installs TPO roofing across St. Louis proper, from Tower Grove flats to the storefronts along Gravois and Cherokee, and we treat every project the way this city’s housing stock deserves. Membrane failure here rarely starts in the field; it begins at the parapet flashing or a cracked coping-stone joint above, so we plan the tear-off around that wall junction first.
Whether the deck sits above a Bevo Mill bungalow addition or a mixed-use building along Grand Boulevard, we spec heat-welded 60 mil TPO for its puncture resistance and the reflective white surface that trims cooling loads in humid Missouri summers. Our crews handle the full assembly: cover board, mechanically fastened or fully adhered membrane, perimeter fastening, drain retrofits, walkway pads, and new parapet metal tied into your commercial roofing in St. Louis system. Every single seam gets probed by hand.
On a South City two-flat with a mod-bit roof that keeps giving up at the corners, TPO is not a leap; it is the right upgrade. We start with a real tear-off down to sound decking, replace rotted boards, and add a high-density cover board so the new 60 mil membrane sits flat and takes hail without bruising. Perimeter fastening gets doubled on the exposed parapet edges, all corners get pre-formed pieces rather than field-cut patchwork, and coping metal is bent to match the wall profile before it goes back on. Around drains, scuppers, and any pipe penetration, we install target patches and prime the substrate so every heat-welded seam has something to bond to. Because so much of this work sits behind parapet walls that need mortar attention too, we coordinate with tuckpointing schedules on adjacent flats, since a full roof replacement in St. Louis is only as tight as the wall it dies into. Typical residential TPO here runs $7,000 to $15,000; larger flats and mixed-use buildings scale from there.
You will never juggle a roofer, an insurance adjuster, and a mortar contractor on your own. From the first walkthrough to the last walkway pad, one project lead in St. Louis owns your flat-roof job and keeps every trade rowing the same direction.
We climb the roof, pop coping caps, and photograph every parapet joint from the deck straight up. You get a written report on membrane, seams, drains, and flashing. No obligation.
Your quote itemizes membrane thickness, cover board, fastening pattern, drain work, and parapet metal so you can compare apples to apples. Financing options fit most home budgets.
We pull City Building Division permits and, if you sit in Soulard or Lafayette Square, coordinate any Preservation Board review with staff. Alley access stays fully protected.
Old material comes off to sound decking, cover board goes down, and 60 mil TPO gets rolled, fastened, and heat-welded seam by seam this week. Corners are factory pre-cut pieces.
We probe every seam, water-test drains, and walk the parapet with you before we call the job done at all. You get full warranty paperwork, membrane specs, and photos of the roof.
Owens Corning Preferred Contractor status only lands with crews that install to the manufacturer spec sheet without cutting corners, and we hold that badge here in the St. Louis market. Add BBB A+ accreditation, active Missouri and Illinois licensing, general liability plus workers compensation coverage in place, and you have a company that can stand up under an insurance carrier file review after another rough storm season like the May 2025 tornado.
Founded in 2022 and backed by 7+ years of industry experience, our 52+ crew members work the tight lots, shared party walls, and alley access of Carondelet, The Hill, and Holly Hills every single week of the year. We pair those crews with a 36-month workmanship warranty on every TPO install, and when the sky turns green over Forest Park our storm damage roofing in St. Louis line stays staffed 24/7 for emergencies. Ownership answers your call directly.
Most residential TPO projects in the city fall between $7,000 and $15,000 installed, and the spread comes down to three things: square footage above the parapets, membrane thickness at 45, 60, or 80 mil, and whether the deck needs cover board or fresh sheathing under it. A two-flat rowhouse in Tower Grove East with a 900 square foot roof usually lands near the lower end. A Grand Boulevard mixed-use building simply climbs from that mark quickly.
The math also shifts with the parapet wall condition on your building. If your mortar is spalling or the coping stones have moved on top, that work is not optional; the best membrane on earth will still leak into a failing wall cap eventually. We price both parts openly, offer Hearth and GreenSky financing so the whole envelope can be done at once, and honor a 36-month workmanship warranty. A fresh 60 mil TPO here should give you 15 to 20 years of quiet service.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.Posted on Google![]()

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!Posted on Google![]()

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
