Storm Damage Restoration in St. Louis, MO

After a spring hailstorm rolls through Dutchtown or straight-line winds strip a two-flat in Tower Grove, most St. Louis homeowners aren’t sure what to fix first, the roof, the fascia, the siding, or the gutters. Our storm damage restoration in St. Louis handles the whole exterior on one call, so you’re not chasing three contractors around a brick city block. Top Quality Exteriors documents every hit, meets your adjuster on the ladder, and rebuilds the envelope correctly. Response starts with a phone call to (314) 618-8888 and a same-day site walk.

The May 16, 2025 EF3 tornado ripped roofs off roughly 5,000 city homes in a single afternoon, and North City is still catching up. We handle every layer that kind of storm exposes, torch-down mod-bit membranes behind brick parapets, dented soffit and fascia on Bevo Mill bungalows, and cracked window trim on Lafayette Square rowhouses. If the wind pulled shingles or opened a fresh leak, our storm damage roofing in St. Louis crew is on the roof same day, and our emergency roof tarping in St. Louis crew tarps flat mod-bit before dawn.

What St. Louis Owners Receive

  • Same-day tarping and board-up before interior plaster spalls
  • One crew for roof, siding, fascia, gutters, and window trim
  • Documented adjuster meetings and Missouri claim-window guidance

How St. Louis Storms Show Up

Storm damage looks different on a dense brick city than it does out in the county. Most calls we take in South City start at the parapet wall, not the field of the roof, wind lifts the coping stones on a Soulard rowhouse or a Tower Grove two-flat, water tracks down inside the multi-wythe brick, and by morning plaster is buckling on the second floor. Hail is the other pattern, sitting in one of the country’s most active hail corridors, with three to five significant events per year, means fractured shingle mats on pitched bungalows in The Hill or Bevo Mill, dented aluminum gutters and downspouts, torn window screens, and pockmarked mod-bit membranes on flat garages behind the alley. Straight-line winds strip fascia and soffit on Carondelet cottages and leave gingerbread tile scattered on Compton Heights sidewalks. Insurance claim windows in Missouri run 12 months from the date of loss, and adjusters here still expect a thorough storm damage siding repair in St. Louis scope with photos of every elevation.

Our 5-Step Storm Response

Every storm claim we open in the City of St. Louis moves through the same five steps, so you know what comes next. It’s the same sequence whether the damage is on a flat Soulard rowhouse or a pitched Bevo Mill dormer, and it keeps your file clean.

24/7 Response

We answer after hours and dispatch a crew when leaks are active. Tarps cover roof punctures and boards cover broken openings within a few hours. First stop keeps water off brick.

Damage Scoping

A project manager climbs the roof, walks every elevation, and photographs each hit. We chalk hail bruises and mark wind creases so nothing gets missed. Scope is written up on site.

Claim Filing

We hand you a claim-ready estimate with the documents your carrier needs. You file it yourself; we stay out of the policy talk. Our scope is what the adjuster reads on the file.

Adjuster Meet-Up

A supervisor meets your adjuster on the roof and walks them through each marked area. We negotiate line items in Xactimate so supplements get approved. You skip the back-and-forth.

Full Rebuild

Once the claim clears and materials arrive, our crew tears off, replaces, and rebuilds. Roof, siding, gutters, and fascia run in sequence. Final walk-through is with you on site.

Why St. Louis Homeowners Trust Us

Top Quality Exteriors LLC has been the exterior repair call in the St. Louis metro since 2022, and our owner and lead crews carry more than seven years of industry experience on brick city housing stock. We hold BBB Accredited Business status with an A+ rating, we’re licensed in Missouri and Illinois, and every job carries general liability and workers’ compensation coverage. We answer to St. Louis City permitting and the Preservation Board in historic zones.

Our team of 52-plus includes project managers who spent last summer on tornado-damaged blocks in Fountain Park and The Ville, so parapet flashing, coping mortar, and rear-addition siding aren’t new to us. We’re an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor and a James Hardie Alliance Program Member, and our workmanship baseline is a 36-month warranty on the labor of every storm rebuild we put back. Owner Mario Granados reviews every scope himself before it reaches your adjuster.

What Storm Restoration Costs Here

The good news for most St. Louis homeowners is that a legitimate hail or wind claim is largely paid by the carrier after your deductible clears. Typical wind or hail deductibles on city policies land between one and two percent of the dwelling coverage, roughly $1,500 to $4,500 on a mid-value South City home, and that’s the number you’ll owe out of pocket. Older Dutchtown brick sits at the low end; restored Lafayette Square Victorians push higher.

A full storm rebuild on a two-flat with mod-bit roof and Hardie trim runs $18,000 to $45,000 before insurance, and a pitched shingle tear-off on a Bevo Mill bungalow with gutter and fascia work runs $12,000 to $22,000. Missouri gives you twelve months from the date of loss to file, so don’t wait past the season. We share Hearth and GreenSky financing for the deductible portion, plus extended manufacturer warranties on Owens Corning shingle systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Missouri gives you 12 months from the date of loss to file most residential storm claims, and City of St. Louis carriers hold to that window strictly. We recommend calling within 30 days so damage is still fresh in adjuster records and photos, and so a tarp gets on any roof puncture before the next rain cycle spalls the interior brick or ruins ceiling drywall below.
Yes, that’s the whole reason we exist as a single-call exterior contractor. One project manager scopes the roof, the fascia, the soffit, the siding, the gutters, and any window trim on your St. Louis home, writes one estimate, and works one adjuster meeting. You don’t split the claim between three sub-trades, and every trade signs off on the same 36-month workmanship warranty.
If the adjuster confirms enough hail hits per test square, most Missouri policies pay for a full roof replacement minus your wind and hail deductible. On flat mod-bit sections behind a parapet, carriers usually pay membrane replacement once punctures are documented. We photograph every test square and mark bruises in chalk so the scope holds up when the file is reviewed.
Homes in Soulard, Lafayette Square, Compton Heights, and other local historic districts often need St. Louis City Preservation Board sign-off before a permit issues for any storm rebuild that changes material or appearance. We prepare the material samples, elevation drawings, and Cultural Resources Office paperwork so approval clears before the tear-off crew arrives.
Our 24/7 emergency response line runs after office hours, and on active-leak calls inside the City of St. Louis we aim to have a tarp on the roof within a few hours. Flat mod-bit roofs behind brick parapets get shrink-wrap tarping detailed to the coping so wind-driven rain can’t lift the edge and refill the roof pan. Call (314) 618-8888 to start the clock.
For same-material replacement with 25 percent or less of the sheathing swapped out, the City of St. Louis Building Division exempts most homeowners from the permit requirement. Change the roofing material, tear off more decking than that, or work in a historic district, and a permit does apply. We pull it in your name and handle inspection scheduling for you.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
