Storm damage does not wait for business hours, and neither do we. Call our 24/7 emergency line, tell us where the wall is open, and a St. Louis tarping crew will be on the way with the poly and tape to seal it before rain rolls in.

Any questions?

Emergency Siding Tarping Across St. Louis

When wind tears trim off a Dutchtown two-flat or hail shreds the fascia on a Tower Grove bungalow, the exposed wood behind that century-old brick starts soaking up water within hours, and one soaked wall cavity can spall the interior plaster for weeks. Our emergency siding tarping in St. Louis stops that damage cold, sealing torn cornices, dormers, soffits, and rear-addition wraps before rain reaches the interior. Top Quality Exteriors keeps a 24/7 crew ready to roll into South City, Soulard, and the Central Corridor the same day you call.

Our crews arrive with heavy-duty reinforced poly, cap nails, pressure-treated furring strips, and butyl seaming tape so the wrap actually holds through the next round of Missouri wind, hail, rain, and overnight temperature swings that follow every spring squall. We photograph every failure point for the adjuster, note wind direction and impact pattern, and then hand off to our own experienced siding repair in St. Louis team once the insurance claim is fully approved, so a single crew sees the entire job through to finish.

What We Tarp After a Storm

  • Torn cornices, dormers, and decorative brick-house trim work
  • Failed rear-addition siding on brick two-flats and rowhouses
  • Ripped soffit and fascia around parapet walls and gutters

How St. Louis Wind Rips Siding

The May 16, 2025 EF3 tornado tore through the city with 152 mph winds and pulled roofs and siding off roughly 5,000 homes in one afternoon, hitting North City and Fountain Park hardest. Beyond that one landmark storm, St. Louis sits in a corridor that averages three to five significant hail events every year, and non-tornadic gusts north of 100 mph hit the Saint Louis Zoo the same weekend the twister landed. On a brick city, that wind rarely peels a whole vinyl wall the way it does out in the county subdivisions. Instead, it lifts an aluminum soffit panel at a Lafayette Square dormer, splits a fascia return over a Bevo Mill gutter, or shears the rear-addition wrap off a Holly Hills bungalow where the wood siding meets the load-bearing brick. When our tarping crew arrives, we look first at those wall-to-brick transitions, cornice returns, and dormer cheeks, because those are the openings that put water into the wall cavity fast. Neighbors near Forest Park and Carondelet Park can reach us at (314) 618-8888 for same-day help.

Our 5-Step Tarping Process

Speed matters when siding is torn open, but a rushed tarp that flaps loose in the next gust is worse than none. Here is how our St. Louis crew moves from the first phone call to a wrap that holds until the permanent repair is scheduled.

Rapid Dispatch

You call our 24/7 line and give us the address and a rough idea of the damage. A dispatcher confirms your crew ETA in minutes. We roll out of Creve Coeur with tarps already loaded.

On-Site Triage

The lead installer walks the exterior and pinpoints every torn cornice, dormer, and rear soffit opening. He measures each hole and photographs it. We rank them worst to least.

Secure the Wall

We cut reinforced poly to fit each opening plus a solid overlap onto sound brick or trim. Furring strips get cap-nailed through the poly into wood framing. Butyl tape seals seams.

Document Damage

Our tech shoots wide, mid, and close-up photos of every failure and every tarp. We log wind direction, impact pattern, and material type. The full packet goes to your adjuster.

Plan the Repair

Once your claim clears, our office schedules the permanent siding, soffit, and trim rebuild. Same crew, same photos, same file, no handoffs. You keep one number the whole time.

Why St. Louis Trusts Our Crews

Top Quality Exteriors was founded in 2022, but the ownership team brings over seven years of storm-response experience across the St. Louis metro. We are a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, and a James Hardie Alliance Program member, and we carry general liability plus workers compensation on every job. Licensed in both Missouri and Illinois, our 52-plus team members work city, county, and Metro East calls the same week.

When the May 2025 tornado tore through North City, we were on rooftops in Fountain Park before the debris on the streets was cleared. Our tarping crews know the difference between wrapping a suburban vinyl wall and sealing a soffit return on a 100-year-old brick two-flat where the wood siding is only in one narrow band. We handle storm damage siding repair in St. Louis every day, so nothing gets skipped on the emergency wrap.

What Emergency Tarping Costs

Emergency siding tarping in St. Louis city is priced by scope, not square footage, because a single dormer cheek and a shredded rear-addition wrap take different labor and material. A typical tarp on one to two openings runs a few hundred dollars, while a whole-side wrap after tornadic wind can climb into four figures. Every quote is written on-site after the walk, and we bring the same photo packet the adjuster will need for your homeowners insurance claim.

Most Missouri homeowners policies cover emergency mitigation like tarping when it prevents further water damage, and our team will bill your carrier directly on approved claims so you are not out of pocket on the front end. If you also lost shingles, decking, or ridge flashing in the same storm, ask about pairing this service with our emergency roof tarping in St. Louis so one crew seals the entire building envelope in a single dispatch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our dispatcher gets a crew ETA to you within minutes of your call, and we can typically reach a South City or Central Corridor address within 2 to 4 hours of the storm passing through the neighborhood. During large events like the May 2025 tornado, we prioritize by severity and safety. The office runs 8 to 5 weekdays, but the emergency line is staffed 24 hours.
Most Missouri policies treat emergency mitigation as a covered expense because the tarp prevents further water intrusion and secondary damage to the home. Our tech shoots the photo packet, notes the wind and impact pattern, and hands it directly to your adjuster. On approved claims, we bill your carrier directly so you do not have to front the mitigation cost.
Yes, that is most of our St. Louis city work. On brick two-flats, rowhouses, and bungalows in Dutchtown, Tower Grove, and Bevo Mill, the wood exposure is usually a torn soffit, a split fascia return, a dormer cheek, or a rear-addition wrap. We wrap those narrow bands cleanly against sound brick with butyl tape and cap-nailed furring so water stays out.
A properly installed tarp with reinforced poly, cap nails, and butyl seaming will typically hold 30 to 90 days through normal weather. That gives your insurance carrier time to process the claim and our office time to order matching siding, trim, or Hardie components. We inspect after any major wind event and re-secure as needed at no extra charge.
Yes. We work regularly on properties in Soulard, Lafayette Square, and other National Register districts. Emergency tarping is temporary mitigation and does not itself trigger Preservation Board review, but our permanent siding, trim, and cornice replacements are planned to match original profiles and pass the Cultural Resources Office when review applies.
We stage out of Creve Coeur and cover the entire city of St. Louis plus the wider metro region. That includes South City neighborhoods like The Hill and Carondelet, North City including Fountain Park and The Ville, the Central Corridor around Forest Park, and much of Metro East Illinois. Call (314) 618-8888 and we will confirm crew availability for your address.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
