Emergency Roof Repair in St. Louis, MO

A midnight storm rips shingles off your Dutchtown two-flat and water is already running down the plaster — that’s when you need emergency roof repair in St. Louis, and you need it before the ceiling gives out overnight. Top Quality Exteriors answers our after-hours line 24/7, dispatches a crew from our Creve Coeur shop, and stops the leak before the interior brick starts to spall. After the May 16, 2025 EF3 tornado tore roofs off roughly 5,000 city homes in one afternoon, we tightened our dispatch and kept our diagnosis honest.

Most St. Louis leaks don’t start where you’d guess. On a brick two-flat or Soulard rowhouse, water usually enters at the coping mortar on top of the parapet wall or at the flashing where the low-slope membrane ties into brick. Our crews diagnose the wall junction first, then patch the field with modified bitumen, EPDM, or TPO to match what’s already up there. If the damage is storm-driven, we document every hail bruise and wind-lifted shingle for your adjuster and can escalate to storm damage roofing in St. Louis the same week.

What You Get When You Call

  • Live human on the after-hours line, not a callback queue
  • Crew on-site within about two hours across the city core
  • Written photo report and adjuster-ready damage documentation

How Fast We Actually Get There

Speed matters more here than in the suburbs because St. Louis housing is dense, brick, and unforgiving of standing water. On a Tower Grove or Bevo Mill two-flat, water riding down the inside of a multi-wythe brick wall will spall plaster within hours and undermine coping stones over days. We stage crews out of our Creve Coeur shop so a truck can be rolling down Kingshighway or Gravois within roughly two hours of your call, night or weekend. Our tech steps onto the roof with a moisture meter, a bucket of coping-grade sealant, and enough torch-down or EPDM to seal the wall junction the same visit. If we need to hold water off for a few days while parts arrive, we install a heavy-duty tarp with sandbags and lath strips — and, when the tarp is a stopgap for a bigger job, we can move you straight into emergency roof tarping in St. Louis without another appointment. Every visit ends with photos, a written scope, and a real callback number: (314) 618-8888.

Our Emergency Repair Process

Here is how a call to our after-hours line actually plays out from the first ring to a dry ceiling. Five steps, no runaround, and a real St. Louis crew that has seen your kind of roof before. Read through so you know exactly what to expect.

Answer the Call

You reach a live human at (314) 618-8888, not a callback queue or a bot. We log your address, the cross streets, and what you can see or hear. Then we dispatch the closest crew.

Rapid Dispatch

A truck rolls from our Creve Coeur shop and heads down Olive or Delmar toward your block. Target arrival is about two hours. We stay on the line until the crew hits your door.

Locate the Leak

We climb the parapet or ridge and read the roof with a moisture meter. Most leaks trace to coping mortar, flashing, or a lifted shingle. We then show you the failure on our phone.

Stop the Water

We seal the field with modified bitumen, EPDM patch, or matching shingle work. If parts are days out, a heavy tarp goes down with sandbags and lath strips to hold the water off.

Document & Plan

Every visit ends with photos, a written scope, and a claim-ready damage report. We hand it to you and your adjuster so the permanent repair moves without extra back and forth.

Why St. Louis Homeowners Trust Us

Top Quality Exteriors LLC has been rolling trucks across the St. Louis city core since we opened in 2022, and our owner brings 7+ years of hands-on industry experience to every emergency call. We are BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, licensed in Missouri and Illinois, and carry both general liability and workers’ compensation coverage. When the May 2025 tornado ripped through North City and Fountain Park, our phones lit up before dawn.

Our crews know the details that catch out contractors from farther out: how Preservation Board review affects material choices in Soulard or Lafayette Square, why the Building Division treats a like-for-like patch differently than a scope with new decking, and how to coordinate a coping-stone re-set with a tuckpointer next door. We back workmanship with a firm 36-Month warranty, with extended coverage up to Lifetime on select products, and Hearth or GreenSky financing.

What Emergency Roof Repair Costs

A same-day emergency roof repair in St. Louis typically runs $400 to $1,500 for a targeted fix on a pitched roof, and $800 to $2,500 when we’re dealing with a flat or low-slope membrane behind a brick parapet. If we need to tarp first and permanently repair later, the tarp portion usually lands between $1,000 and $2,000 — and, in most storm cases, that dollar figure is a covered expense on your homeowners policy rather than out-of-pocket cash.

St. Louis sits in one of the most active hail corridors in the country, with the metro averaging three to five significant hail events per year, so most emergency calls we take are insurance-driven. Missouri gives you 12 months on most policies to file a claim, and your contractor has the right to attend the adjuster’s inspection. Typical deductibles land between $1,000 and $2,500. If replacement is next, we can quote roof repair in St. Louis or a full re-roof.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our target response window is about two hours anywhere inside the city core, day or night. We stage trucks out of our Creve Coeur shop so a crew can roll down Kingshighway, Gravois, or Delmar quickly. On the after-hours line at (314) 618-8888 you reach a real human, not a callback queue, and we stay on the phone with you until the tech is at your door.
There is an after-hours dispatch fee that reflects the crew, the truck, and the materials we bring on a nights-and-weekends call. On a storm loss, most homeowners policies cover reasonable emergency mitigation, including tarping, so the out-of-pocket figure is usually just your deductible. We invoice everything itemized so your adjuster can process it cleanly.
On the two-flats and rowhouses that dominate Dutchtown, Tower Grove, and Soulard, most leaks trace to failed coping mortar on top of a parapet wall, cracked flashing where the low-slope membrane ties into brick, or a broken chimney counter-flash. The field of the mod-bit or EPDM is usually the last thing at fault, so we diagnose the wall junction first.
In most storm-loss situations, yes. Missouri policies typically cover reasonable emergency mitigation costs, including tarping and board-up, because those steps prevent further damage. You get 12 months on most policies to file the claim, and your contractor has the right to attend the adjuster’s inspection. We document everything with photos and a written scope for the file.
Yes. We work on Lafayette Square Victorians, Soulard rowhouses, and gingerbread homes near The Hill regularly. On properties in a local historic district or on the National Register, material changes route through the Cultural Resources Office and the Preservation Board. We do like-for-like emergency work under the same-material exemption and note anything that will need review later.
Yes. When a leak reveals a bigger problem — layered-over decking, ventilation issues, or wind-lifted shingles across a full slope — we offer Hearth Financing and GreenSky Financing so you can keep moving on the permanent repair. Our workmanship warranty is a firm 36 months, with extended coverage up to Lifetime available on select roofing products.

I was referred by a relative, and I'm glad I asked. They did great work, communicated well about everything, and the one issue I had was addressed quickly and efficiently. I am glad that I went to this company. Not only would I use them again, I would refer them to friends and loved ones. Pleasant workers who work hard, and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.

I am extremely grateful that I contacted Top Quality Exteriors for my projects. They did a great job, continuously kept me posted on the work with daily photos, and were timely and professional at a very competitive and fair price!! While other contractors were not interested in my relatively small projects (soffit and dormer repair), TQE came out the day I called to give me a bid. They also went above and beyond. I not only had soffit repair work needed, but a birds next was built into the soffit opening. After inspecting my soffit to provide a bid, Bryan, my TQE representative, asked me if I had a yard bag. He climbed back on the roof and removed the nest. He then used materials from his truck to go back up on the roof to close off the hole until it could be repaired. All this on a late Friday afternoon when most contractors would be looking to start their weekend. Because of this, the great quality work, and the friendly and professional employees, I will always contact Top Quality Exteriors for any future projects, large or small. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

The overall experience was great. Their responses are quick and detailed, and the images provided of the condition of the roof before, during, and after repair gave me confidence in the work that was being done. They did a thorough job of explaining the scope of work, including a change order that was required when additional damage was found to the sheathing of the roof. They were transparent about their pricing and were respectful throughout our interactions. Overall I’m satisfied, and hopeful that the quality of the work will show over time.
